Cookie Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small information files stored on a user’s device when they visit a website.

They may be used to enable the technical operation of pages, save preferences, measure website use or display advertising.

2. Cookies currently used

The EMSF Lisboa website does not use Google Analytics. Technical hosting statistics are obtained from server logs and do not depend on analytics cookies in the user’s browser.

The website uses a technical session cookie associated with the contact form. This cookie is required to protect the form against misuse, validate the session and apply security measures, including protection against forged requests and the safety interval between submissions.

On listing pages, when a user selects List or Grid view on a computer, the website uses the browser’s session storage to retain that preference temporarily during navigation. Only the value corresponding to the selected mode is stored, without personal data, tracking or transmission to the server. The preference ends when the browser tab or session is closed.

The website may display advertising through Google AdSense. When advertising services are active, the use of cookies, identifiers or similar technologies for purposes that are not strictly necessary will be managed in accordance with the user’s choices through Google’s consent management platform (CMP).

3. Necessary cookie and functional session storage

This cookie is strictly necessary for the operation and security of the service requested by the user. It is not used for advertising, behavioural analytics or profiling.

The session storage used for the List/Grid choice serves exclusively to retain, during the current navigation, the view mode expressly selected by the user. It is not used for advertising, behavioural analytics or profiling.

4. Analytics cookies

The website does not currently use analytics or audience measurement cookies.

Technical statistics that may be provided by the hosting service through cPanel are generated from server logs and do not depend on analytics cookies being placed in the user’s browser.

5. Advertising cookies and technologies

The website may display advertising through Google AdSense. When the service is active, Google and associated advertising technology providers may use cookies, local storage, identifiers or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, frequency-cap exposure, prevent fraud and abuse and, where valid consent has been given, personalise advertising.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on those visits, in accordance with the user’s choices.

Even non-personalised ads may use cookies or identifiers for functions such as frequency capping, aggregated measurement, security and fraud prevention. Where the law requires consent to store or access information on a device, those technologies are subject to the choices made through the CMP.

6. Consent and Google CMP

The technical session cookie required for the operation and security of the contact form does not require prior consent.

The functional List/Grid session storage is used only after the user selects one of the view modes and exclusively to carry out that choice during the current navigation.

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, EMSF Lisboa uses Google’s CMP to manage choices relating to advertising and technologies that are not strictly necessary. The message provides the options Consent, Do not consent and Manage options.

The management options allow users to review and set the applicable purposes and providers. Consent may be refused and, where it has been given, may later be withdrawn through the Privacy and cookie settings mechanism made available on the website.

7. Managing and deleting cookies

Users may view, block or delete cookies through their browser settings.

Closing the browser tab or session removes the temporary List/Grid preference; on a later visit, the presentation starts again in List mode.

Advertising choices may also be reviewed through the Privacy and cookie settings mechanism of Google’s CMP made available on the website. Google ad personalisation can also be managed in My Ad Center.

Blocking the technical session cookie may prevent the contact form from operating or being submitted securely.

8. Changes to this policy

EMSF Lisboa may update this Cookie Policy following legal or technical changes or changes to the services used by the website.

The updated version will be published on this page together with its revision date.
