Caristo Diagnostics, a global leader in AI technologies for cardiovascular disease, today announced that new University of Oxford-led research using Caristo's technologies will be presented at the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, taking place in Munich, Germany, from August 28-31, 2026. The presentations will highlight the scientific breadth of Caristo's AI platform—including emerging applications in non-contrast cardiac CT for inflammation, stroke prediction, and virtual biopsy of arterial inflammation—which are distinct from and build on the company's commercially available portfolio for coronary inflammation and AI plaque analysis.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of death globally, with 85% of these deaths attributed to heart attacks and strokes.1 Localized inflammation is increasingly recognized as a key biological driver of these events, creating new opportunities to identify patients earlier through routine imaging. At ESC, late-breaking data to be presented by Charalambos Antoniades, British Heart Foundation Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford, will examine the potential application of Caristo's AI to predict stroke from routine cardiac CT scans. Additional abstracts will explore emerging uses of Caristo's patented FAI-Score™, including the assessment of inflammatory signals on non-contrast cardiac CT scans.
